Runes and Glyphs

Gultuk_Runes&Glyphs.PNG

Design Intent and Strategy

Gultuk is a species of Warrior dragons that has been bred for war for generations. Its passive, Bred For War, grants it a more powerful breath attack that is also faster and larger than that of most other Warriors.

For its main offensive spell, it can use its Honed Fury to further increase its breath damage for a short period of time. The combination of Bred For War and Honed Fury allows for periods of explosive power to take down multiple towers in quick succession.

Gultuk also has access to Earth’s Judgment to make powerful precision strikes on high priority targets in the enemy defenses.

Finally, Stealth Tactics allows Gultuk to cloak and become untargetable for a short period of time. Dragon Riders should use this to buy time for spell cooldowns and to avoid highly damaging attacks.

  • Runes and Glyphs

    Cogclaw_Runes&Glyphs.PNG
  • Design Intent and Strategy
Cogclaw is a powerful mechanical Hunter with plenty of control at its disposal. Its passive spell, Draconic Automaton grants itself increased rage regeneration during combat. For precision removal of enemy defenses, it can cast Feather Blade, which will deal heavy damage to all buildings in a small target area.

  • Cogclaw also knows the two part spell: Flywheel which helps it further its offensive powers. The first spell in the cycle, Crank Up, greatly increases Cogclaw’s attack for a short period of time. After it uses Crank Up, Flywheel will cycle to Unwind, which allows Cogclaw to freeze all nearby towers. Try to use Crank Up at the beginning of an engagement, so that Unwind will be available to freeze any remaining low priority towers that survive your initial assault.

Finally, Steam Cloak will completely hide Cogclaw and make it untargetable by all buildings. When it is cast, Cogclaw will recover ammo, and upon exiting the cloak, it will deal damage to all nearby buildings.

  • Runes and Glyphs

    Efrit_Runes&Glyphs.PNG

Design Intent and Strategy
Efrit is a Sorcerer dragon capable of powering up to unleash devastating spells.

Efrit’s passive spell is Efficiency, which reduces its maximum lock-on targets to 2, while greatly increasing the damage that its breath attacks deal.

Efrit’s signature ability is Override, a multi-part spell that powers it up so that it can fire off its most powerful spell, Overclock. First, Efrit can cast the spell Rev three times. With each cast Efrit will gain some rage. After the third cast, the spell will cycle to Overclock, which allows Efrit to dodge attacks and deal heavy damage to nearby towers, while also speeding it up its flying speed. After Overclock, Efrit must Overheat briefly before it can begin using Rev again. Proper use of the rage from Rev and casting Overclock are critical to success for Efrit, so Dragon Riders must be thoughtful about how they spend the Rev rage.

For more tactical tower removal, Efrit can cast Wingfire Cannon, which deals heavy damage to a single tower. As its main defensive spell, Efrit can cast Firewall, which allows it to dodge all projectiles for a short period and help it ramp up safely.

Runes and Glyphs

Qaybool_Runes&Glyphs.PNG

Design Intent and Strategy
Qaybool is an Invoker running on powerful turbines, wires and a steam-engine core. Its invoke spell is Invoke:Turbine Gale, which deals damage to all nearby towers.

For defense, Qaybool can use Tension Wings, which allows it to dodge all incoming projectiles for a short period and deal damage to nearby towers for the duration. Tension Wings will also fully restore Qaybool’s ammo, which enables it to fire multiple shots and Invoke: Turbine Gales in rapid succession. Additionally, Wing Gust provides more defensive utility by allowing Qaybool to briefly stun enemy defenses and knock projectiles from the air.

For offenses, Torrent of Steam will power up Qaybool’s attack for a few seconds. Combine Torrent of Steam with Tension Wings to get the most out of the enhanced attacks by reloading your breath attacks while it’s active. Finally, to fuel all of its destruction, Clockwork will heal Waybool and instantly grant it rage.
