Role Colors

On Discord, server admins and moderators can set up permissions for their server members through a role system. A server’s various roles can be identified by color, which defaults to applying a color to your username, or server nickname, based on your highest sitting role of that server. However, users have told us that some role colors make a username or server nickname illegible against their selected Discord theme. To solve for this, users can now determine how role colors are displayed in their personal view of their Discord client.

Go to User Settings > Accessibility, then navigate to the Role Colors section. You can choose from:

Show role colors in names

Show role colors next to names

Don’t show role colors
